Maryland Counseling Associates, a counseling private practice located in Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland strives to offer services to the community through individual, group counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling. Before opening Maryland Counseling Associates with Kelsey Brewer, I wanted to utilize my clinical skills as the Director of Student Resources at Concordia Preparatory School. While this role did not directly relate to counseling, I began to notice a need for students with learning differences within the counseling world. This is when the idea of opening a practice began to make sense. I would soon be able to not only work with students with learning differences and teach psychology during the day, but also fulfill my passion of providing mental health services in the evening.
As a counselor and an avid reader, I have decided to start an informational blog for our practice’s followers. Our blog posts will consist of a new “hot topic” every 8 weeks starting with anxiety. Possible future hot topics may include ADHD, body image, and stress management. We look forward to getting suggestion topics from you as well! While we explore these topics each week, you might find helpful tools that can be used in your home, classroom, or relationships!
