Alison Hollida, MS, LGPC

I have had the privilege of working with teens, adults, individuals, and couples in Harford and Baltimore County for several years. My approach to therapy is rooted in understanding each client’s unique story, meeting them where they are, and fostering growth and resilience. I specialize in helping clients navigate life transitions, relational challenges, and mental health concerns such as grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am also pursuing certification in Perinatal Mental Health, which has deepened my passion for supporting women and couples through the complex journeys of fertility, birth, and parenthood. Additionally, I work with individuals and couples who have experienced miscarriage, perinatal loss, trauma, and pregnancy decision-making, approaching these sensitive topics with care and compassion.

I take a person-centered approach, tailoring each session to meet the specific needs and goals of my clients. My practice incorporates evidence-based techniques from strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral (CBT), and feminist theories, with tools such as mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and reframing to foster empowerment and confidence. Whether working with individuals exploring personal growth, teens navigating identity and relationships, or couples striving to strengthen their partnership, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard, valued, and capable of overcoming life’s obstacles.

The journey to becoming a therapist has been deeply personal and transformative. Witnessing the impact of the opioid crisis in my community inspired me to pursue a career in advocacy and mental health, while personal experiences of illness and loss within my own family shaped my ability to approach both life and work with authenticity and compassion. These challenges taught me the importance of self-compassion and presence, values that continue to guide my practice. My goal is to help clients rediscover their strength and value, offering them the tools and support to navigate their unique paths with resilience and hope.
