Allyson Tarbox, LMSW

I specialize in working with children (ages 6+), preteens, and teens, particularly those experiencing grief, loss, self-esteem challenges, and anxiety.

With over five years of experience supporting children and adolescents, and nearly two years of direct clinical experience, I bring a compassionate, client-centered approach to therapy. I aim to create a treatment plan that aligns with your goals, meeting you wherever you are in your journey and helping you move toward where you want to be.

In our sessions, I provide a safe, open environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings. I use a blend of therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and person-centered therapy, often incorporating art and play-based interventions to give children and teens alternative ways to express themselves when words feel limiting. These creative outlets can be incredibly powerful for processing trauma, developing self-expression, and building self-esteem.

Coming from a background that includes work within Baltimore City Schools, I understand how larger societal factors impact mental health. I strive to view each client within their full context, recognizing the challenges that come from outside forces like housing, food insecurity, and peer relationships. My focus is on fostering a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and empathy, helping clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they work toward positive change.
